Eliot Spitzer Laurence was born on 10 June 1959 is an American jurist and former politician of the Democratic Party. He was the 54th Governor of New York from January 2007 until his retirement on March 17, 2008 in the wake of revelations of his involvement as a client in a high price prostitution ring.
Spitzer was born and raised in the Bronx that real estate tycoon Bernard Spitzer. He attended Princeton University for her undergraduate studies and then Harvard Law School for his Juris Doctor.
Spitzer defeated incumbent Republican Dennis Vacco by a slim margin to become the New York State Attorney General. His campaign was financed by a controversial multi million dollar loan from his father.
Spitzer is the youngest of three children. He grew up in the affluent Riverdale section of The Bronx in New York City.
