KAT-TUN concert in Bangkok was canceled

Johnny's Jimusho announced on Saturday that KAT-TUN's concert in Bangkok, Thailand, has been indefinitely postponed due to the political unrest in the country.

Recent clashes between the National United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) and the police have been escalating in violence, leading to many injuries and deaths.

KAT-TUN's upcoming Asia tour was scheduled to start with a concert in Bangkok on July 31, followed by two shows in Seoul on August 6-7 and two shows in Taipei on August 27-28. Although the Bangkok concert has been suspended, the other four concerts will go on as planned.

A similar situation happened in 2006, when an Arashi concert in Bangkok had to be canceled due to the coup d'état in Thailand.

KAT-TUN next single without Jin Akanishi

Last month, it was announced that KAT-TUN member Jin Akanishi (25) is set to spend several months in the United States to further his solo career, meaning that he will be unable to participate in KAT-TUN's upcoming Asia tour. Now, it is being reported that he is also absent from the group's next single, "Going!," being released on May 12.

The song was recorded in late March, around the time of Akanishi's U.S. concert announcement. Because Akanishi will be missing from the group's tour and from any promotional events for the single, it was decided that the other five members would record the song without him.

Despite Johnny's Jimusho's statements to the contrary, there is much speculation that Akanishi is leaving KAT-TUN, fueled even more by this news. Akanishi is expected to stay in the U.S. until October, when his visa will expire, but he currently has no work scheduled after that. Sources say that there is a possibility of him making a long-term move to the U.S., but nothing has been finalized yet. In any case, it appears that Akanishi may eventually become an absentee member of KAT-TUN, even if he is not officially removed.

Akanishi's trip to the U.S. includes just three concerts in Los Angeles so far, but he is considering doing a club tour as well, as he has already received some offers.

KAT-TUN new single Love Yourself released

Recently, KAT-TUN members are being active in dramas and movies individually.
However, their new single "Love yourself　～君が嫌いな君が好き～" is going to release on February 10th. Members believe "This work will send our own messages" and it is also the theme song of the drama starring Kamenashi Kazuya "ヤマトナデシコ七変化 / Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge (The Wallflower)"

As Kamenashi reported in his blog, "This is Kamenashi Kazuya! The promotion activity of our new song is officially started! That's for today." Finally KAT-TUN seems to begin their movement. Though there are still a few days to go before the release date, what kind of activity they will have is more than attractive.

Meanwhile, Kamenashi is busy with filming the drama "The Wallflower".
Kamenashi: "We stayed up till 4am in the filming location a few days ago. We Yamanade (initial of Yamatonadeshiko) team had a hot pot on a stove? or a heater? anyway a warming equipment with solid fuel, watching the stars, falling into the hole, talking and sharing the secrets.... Kyohei (the character played by Kamenashi) felt so happy!"
But...what does "falling into the hole" mean?(laugh)

KAT-TUN Jin Akanishi Releases OLYMPOS Album Cover Movie BANDAGE

KAT-TUN's Akanishi Jin makes his silver-screen debut in 2010 as the lead singer of an early 90s rock band called LANDS in the film Bandage directed by renowned music producer Kobayashi Takeshi. In addition to collaborating for the film, Akanishi formed the project unit LANDS with Kobayashi to release the movie theme song Bandage, which topped the charts with first-week sales of over 200,000! The single is just a teaser though for the real show in January which sees the release of the movie and the LANDS mini-album Olympos. The album contains six songs that Natsu (Akanishi Jin's character) performs in the movie plus two new songs specially composed for the album by Kobayashi for a total of eight tracks.

First Press comes with 24-page booklet; only while supplies last. Second Press will have an 18-page booklet and a different cover design.

Presenting “KAT-TUN Live Break the Records” DVD

Popular boy band KAT-TUN will release a new live DVD on December 16th. The DVD is entitled KAT-TUN Live Break the Records, named after their album of the same name, which came out in April this year. The DVD features footage of their performance on June 15th at the Tokyo Dome, which was held to promote the aforementioned album.

KAT-TUN certainly broke the records this year in May, as they held eight consecutive performances at the legendary Tokyo Dome, for which they are now noted in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The DVD will be released in a regular and a limited edition. The limited edition will come with a bonus disc including tour documentary footage with interviews and behind the scenes footage. The DVD can already be pre-ordered at CDJapan.

Just the other day, KAT-TUN member Nakamaru went to see a theater production in which NEWS member Masuda played the lead role. Afterwards, Nakamaru also went backstage...

Nakamaru "Yesterday I went to see a theater production called '雨の日森の中 / Ame no Hi Mori no Naka [lit. 'In the forest when raining']' starring Masuda. It was a fast-paced comedy that could be enjoyed by everyone, and was really interesting. It's about a man and a woman that get lost in the woods, and they eventually come across a lodge. Due to a small accident, the couple and the lodge's owner and people staying there begin to completely misunderstand each other. At some parts you become anxious about the characters, and then in different scenes you find yourself laughing at them. After it was over I went backstage to go see Masuda. He was wearing a very unique T-shirt. I want one too."

What sort of T-shirt was Masuda wearing? The Johnny's members participate in a wide range of activities. Seeing each other's performances must bring positive influence.
