Kyoko Fukada as heroine in film Wild 7

Kyoko Fukada

The complete main cast of the “Wild 7” movie adaptation was uncovered on Monday during an on-location press conference in Kawaguchi, Saitama. It was previously reported that the film includes lead actor Eita and Kanjani8 member Maruyama Ryuhei as two of the titular group of outlaws, but it is now known that the rest are being played by Shiina Kippei, Abe Tsuyoshi, Ukaji Takashi, Hirayama Yusuke, and Matsumoto Minoru.

Also joining the cast is Fukada Kyoko, who will play the story’s heroine as Yuki, a mysterious woman working as a sommelier at an Italian restaurant. Her character is said to be an important one, holding the key to the story.

As explained in previous reports, “Wild 7″ is based on an action manga by Mochizuki Mikiya from the 1970s, telling the story of a motorcycle-riding group of former convicts (the “Wild 7″) who get selected by the police to combat terrorists and other criminals. Nakai Kiichi will be playing the police superintendent who oversees the group.

Kaname Jun and Motokariya Yuika have been cast as newspaper reporters chasing after the incidents that the “Wild 7″ are involved in. Yoshida Kotaro plays an official with the Public Security Intelligence Agency.

The film has now been given a release date around the start of 2012.

Kyoko Fukada new film Yoake no Machi de

Kyoko Fukada Yoake no Machi de

In January, Kadokawa Pictures announced plans to distribute a film titled "Yoake no Machi de," based on a novel by Keigo Higashino. It has now been learned that the movie will be directed by Setsuro Wakamatsu ("Shizumanu Taiyo," "Whiteout"), featuring Goro Kishitani (46) and Kyoko Fukada (28) in the lead roles.

Higashino is said to have written the novel with inspiration from the Southern All Stars song "LOVE AFFAIR ~Himitsu no Date~." Set in Yokohama, the story revolves around a boss named Watabe (Kishitani) and one of his subordinates named Nakanishi (Fukada). The two have a chance encounter at a batting center, leading to an affair. However, Watabe soon learns that Nakanishi is suspected of murder. Her father's mistress was killed 15 years earlier, and the case is nearing its statute of limitations.

Filming is under way and is scheduled to finish in mid-March. Theatrical release is planned for fall of this year.

Kyoko Fukada new boyfriend is Maasa Igarashi

Kyoko Fukada

Another relationship rumor involving actress Kyoko Fukada (27) has surfaced, this time in the latest issue of Josei Jishin. The magazine reports that her new boyfriend may be actor Maasa Igarashi (25).

According to the magazine, Igarashi has been seen entering and leaving Fukada's apartment building multiple times. The two have also been separately seen using the same bicycle. However, the photographs in the article do not show the two together.

Igarashi got his start in show business in 2008 and has appeared in a few works up until now. One of his current projects is a supporting role in the upcoming "Paradise Kiss" movie, scheduled for release next spring. (He should not be confused with Shunji Igarashi, who also appears in that movie as a main cast member.)

Previous romance rumors have linked Fukada to many other celebrities, including actor Ryotaro Shimizu (22), with whom she is said to have broken up last month. Although her management office has usually denied such rumors, this time her office declined to comment because it is a private matter.

Kyoko Fukada is in love relationship with Utada Hikaru

Kyoko Fukada

A rather unique dating rumor has been published by a couple of tabloids yesterday. They claim that actress Fukada Kyoko (27) and songstress Utada Hikaru (27), who is currently on a hiatus, are in a love relationship.

Apparently both of them have often been seen at a certain bar in the Shinjuku Ni-chome district of Tokyo. That district is known for having the world's highest concentration of gay bars and thus there are a lot of places made for lesbian women as well. However, recently there have also been an increase of heterosexual women that just want to be more comfortable without any men around who visit such places.

One witness who saw the two celebrities at such a bar back in July described their appearances. First she saw Fukakyon sitting at the counter, having a few glass by herself. She was a wearing quite a revealing dress and showed a lot of cleavage that day. A little later Utada appeared at the bar as well and unlike the feminine appearance of Fukakyon, she had more of a rockish vibe wearing a shirt with a skull design and trousers. It wasn't the only time they have been spotted in this district. In fact, several people working in Ni-chome revealed that they have been seeing those two quite a few times already.

Only a month later Utada suddenly announced her hiatus, but the tabloid isn't trying to indicate any connection to those sightings.

An official of a TV station commented, "Since last year I've often heard stories about both of them being spotted in Ni-chome. There even have been a couple of interesting reports going a bit more into detail about their encounters… Anyway, it's been known for a while already that Fukakyon really loves lesbian bars. She always goes there to have a drink and raise her spirit just before filming a drama and so on. There even is one favorite place she likes to go when she finishes a project."

Throughout her career, Fukakyon has been in quite a couple of official and unofficial relationships with men. She's already being referred to as a "nikushoku joshi", a so-called "carnivorous woman" that is very active in the field of love. Her most recent relationship with Shimizu Akira's son that started last year already came to an end earlier this year. Now people start to believe that the end of her relationship with him could be related to her new relationship with Utada.

"Utada and her are very close friends and almost meet each other on a weekly base. Moreover it's an inviolable rule that even as a celebrity you never get any kind special treatment in such bars and after all there aren't really that many places where they would be able to share a few drinks without having to worry about attracting the public attention….," the TV station official continued.

Kyoko Fukada and Kippei Shinna in film Renai Gikyoku

Kyoko Fukada

Hard to believe, but popular actress Kyoko Fukada has not had top billing in a film since Mayumi Miyasaka’s “Tenshi”, which was released over 4 years ago. Today comes word that Fukada will be making her return to leading lady status the hard way in Renai Gikyoku: Watashi to Koi ni Ochite Kudasai (literally “Love Drama: Please Fall in Love with Me”), playing a role consisting of 3 distinct parts.

The film is an adaptation of playwright Shoji Kokami‘s hit stage play “Renai Gikyoku”, and Kokami himself will direct. Fukuda will play a popular television screenwriter named Mayumi Taniyama and actor Kippei Shiina will play a totally clueless TV producer named Mukai in his first purely comedic role. Taniyama is suffering from writer’s block, so when Mukai enthusiastically requests to work from one of her scripts, she asks him to fall in love with her first.

Fukada’s role is broken down three parts as the story bounces back and forth between fantasy and reality: the real-life screenwriter selfishly abusing a man for her own purposes, the lonely housewife in her script, and the gorgeous woman in the fictional housewife’s script.

The rest of the cast includes Takashi Tsukamoto, Masatoshi Nakamura, Misa Shimizu, Masahiko Nishimura, and Jun Inoue.

“Renai Gikyoku” will begin its gradual nation-wide release in Japan on September 25, 2010.

Kyoko Fukada in Movie “Ururu no mori no monogatari”

kyoko fukada

TOKYO — Actress Kyoko Fukada, 27, revealed recently she had a hard time with her role as a nature photographer in “Ururu no mori no monogatari” (“A Tale of Ululu’s Wonderful Forest.”)

Fukada plays the younger sister of a man whose two children come up to Hokkaido to live with him for the summer, after his ex-wife and custodian of the kids is admitted to hospital in Tokyo. While there, the children become attached to a puppy they find nearby and name it Ululu. Soon after they are told it is likely to be a wolf from an extinct species, and will be taken into captivity. The kids decide to try to return the baby wolf to his mother and embark on an adventure in which they play in the vast expanses of nature. On the way, they come across many wild animals, including Ezo deers and foxes.

The heart-warming story was produced by the same people who made “Mari to koinu no mon ogatari” (“A Tale of Mari and Three Puppies”) in 2007.

Fukada, who is used to playing some eye-catching roles such as a Lolita-high school student in “Kamikaze Girls” or Doronjo in “Yatterman,” said that she tried not to stand out in the family-oriented movie. She added that starring in a more regular production was the most difficult role she has played to date.

“A Tale of Ululu’s Wonderful Forest” is in cinemas now.

Kyoko Fukuda-Sato Ryuuta in “Massugu na Otoko”

Fuji TV announced another new dorama for the upcoming season. Their next Tuesday-10pm dorama will be called “Massugu na Otoko” (Straight Man) and feature Sato Ryuuta in his first role since he became a father of a baby girl back in October. Pursuing a straight life as a father, this might be the perfect role for him. “I’d like to become a proper father and more mature in general, not only as an actor but also as the master of a household.” He commented. Fukada Kyoko will take the role of the heroine.

“Massugu na Otoko” will be a human comedy featuring Sato as a natural and honest single male. There will be moments of laughter, moments of tears and, of course, moments of love. His role will be that of 30 year-old worker at a construction company who has to climb over his own incompetency. In February he will turn 30 as well. “I’d like to become a firm man at heart, and by playing this role I might fight some ways to achieve it. Those are my personal feelings, but I’m really happy to get the chance to work on such a wonderful dorama in the perfect timing with the birth of my daughter.” He said with a smile.

Fukada is going to play a woman who makes fun of him all the time. She’s a very arrogant person who subsists on part-time work only, but before she knows she’s falling for that man who desperately tries to find his way back on the right way. It’s their first time working together. “He’s said to be a hot-tempered person, so I’d like to become just as hot-tempered in order not to loose against him.”

It seems like that Fukada’s role might even become pregnant throughout the series and the chances for Sato becoming a father on TV again are high as well. Of course they won’t reveal whether they’ll really go this way for the plot, but it would be a nice to see a reenactment of Sato’s expression when he became a father.
