Sidhartha Mallya was born Indian businessman Vijay Mallya from his first marriage, he was in the U.S. was educated in London and Dubai.

He began to attend Wellington College, Berkshire, a boarding school in Berkshire, England when he was fifteen. Mallya got his bachelor's degree in business from Queen Mary, University of London in 2008.

According to recent media reports  he is currently dating Deepika Padukone, a model and Bollywood actress.
Mallya was appointed as chairman of the board of the holding company United Breweries.
