Al Gore's son arrested for drug possession

Al Gore's son, Al Gore III, was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana and prescription drugs in California on Wednesday after being pulled over in a blue Prius at 2:15 a.m. for allegedly speeding just south of LA. "We love him very much," the former vice president said on the Today show this morning. "We are going to leave it as a private matter. We are glad he is safe and that he is getting treatment." When police detected the smell of pot in Gore Junior's car, they searched and found marijuana and the prescription drugs Xanax, Valium, Vicodin and Adderall. No actual prescriptions for the medications were present, according to police. After his arrest, Gore was taken to Orange County Jail in Santa Ana for booking and released on $20,000 bail. This is not Gore's first brush with police. He was arrested in 2003 for marijuana possession and in 2002 for DUI.
