Nicole Kidman did not, in fact, as earlier reported, congratulate Tom Cruise of Katie Holmes on the birth of their daughter this week. Kidman had been quoted as saying, "I hope mother and baby are doing well," but her publicist said, "Ms. Kidman never issues statements about her personal life. I'm her publicist and I never released this statement. I've been deluged with press queries on the back of this and I'm completely taken aback. Goodness... Isn't that what PR folks are for?"
